Health history and assessment includes

• history of any allergic towards environmental products
• usage of any type of new products over the face
• check whether it is spreading type or not
• assess the skin tone of the patient
• previous history of any hormonal abnormalities for the client.for that blood examination should be done
• check for any sort of bacterial infections
• assess the severity of acne
• ask with the patient about the dietary pattern of the patient
• assess the patient for any sort of stress or anxiety

Non pharmacological measures includes

• gentle cleansing of affected area twice daily
• scrubbing of skin should be avoided
• should not squeeze the pimples if present
• should not touch the face unnecessarily
• avoid oily foods,soft drinks, chocolate and all .dietary modifications should be made
• physical therapy such as laser therapy,phototherapy,chemical peels and comedone extraction

Application of benzoyl peroxide

To use lotion ,cream or gel first wash the face or affected area and gently pat dry with a towel.Then apply a small amount of benzoyl peroxide rub it in gently.creams and gels should be applied about 15 minutes

Use of oral tetracycline and patient teaching:

1. It is mainly used by reducing or ceasing the growth of bacteria.It can be used for about 6-8 weeks.

2. tetracycline should be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after the meals or snacks

3. drink full glass of water

4. don't consume it with milk products or eat along with food

other pharmacological measures includes

• azelaic acid or salicylic acid
• topical retinoid
• oral isotrerinoin therapy if patient seems nodular acne
• clindamycin
• dapsone

if the patient wish to use the drug for a long period always take the advice of a doctor.

always check for any side effects which includes

• redness of the skin
• inflammation
• dryness
• peeling
• check for the above problems if the patient wish to use it for a long period of time
