The aim of the research study was clearly explained. Nurses are working in a highly pressurized working environment which increases the risk of obesity and related factors associated with obesity. So this research topic is more relevant. The participants were selected randomly and all related data was collected but the research findings were not statistically significant. A cross-sectional study design was appropriately used for research findings. But the participants were selected from the California state which has a low prevalence in obesity rates. so the findings will not be estimated for overall US nurses. The findings show that the obese/overweight are seen more in nursing managers/ supervisors. This is because they have sedentary work and less workload compared to nurses who involved in direct patient care. Further, the working hours were inconsistent to associate the relationship between long working hours and obesity. Self-reporting bias of BMI and physical activity may underestimate or overestimate the true results. Some of the factors such as dietary habits, lifestyle behavior, sleep pattern were not discussed in this study. Future research needed to validate the findings of the long-term effect of occupational factors related to obesity and physical activity.
