Answer #1

Investment in first account = $2,500

total investment = $4,000

Investment in second account = Investment in first account - total investment

= 4,000-2,500

= $1,500

Interest rate in first account = 9%

Interest rate in second account = K%

Total interest = $315

Total interest = Investment in first account x Interest rate in first account + Investment in second account x K%

315 = 2,500 x 9% + 1,500 x K%

315 = 225+15K

15K = 90

K = 6%

Rate of second account = 6%

Kindly give a positive rating if you are satisfied with this solution and please ask if you have any query.
