Ans. Diabetes mellitus due to impaired metabolism of fat, protein and carbohydrate caused by deficiency of insulin ( either impaired production of insulin or impaired insulin utilization by the body .

Type 2 DM :- is non insulin dependent D.M. so there is relatively lack of insulin.

Blood glucose level more than 200mg/dl random, suggest diabetes mellitus

Fasting blood glucose level :- > 126 mg/dl suggest prediabetes mellitus.

Preventive measure :- drugs therapy :- oral hypoglycemic agent only type 2 DM

Sulfonyl agent eg. Tolbutamide ,tolazamide , glipizide
