Answer #1

1.

Weight of child= 33 lbs

1 kg= 2.2 lbs

Weight of child in kilograms= 33/2.2= 15 kg

2.

Recommended dose= 15 mg / kg / dose

So, dose for 15 kg child= 15* 15 = 225 mg per dose

3.

(D/H)*V= dose ordered/ dose in hand* quantity= desired dose(x)

X= (225 mg/ 160 mg)*5 ml= 7.03 ml

Oral syringe is best to administer dose comparing to measuring cup.

4.

a. Subcutaneous means layer under the skin .

b. Dose ordered= 4500 units

Dose in hand = 5000 units

Quantity = 1 ml

Amount needed= 4500/5000*1

=0.9 ml

C .

0.9 ml on 1 ml syringe is exact middle line or second largest line in between 0.8 and 1 ml.

5.

Ordered dose= 40 mg

Dose in hand= 80 mg in 1 tablet

Amount to be administered= ordered/dose in hand* quantity= 40/80*1=1/2= 0.5 of 1 tablet.
