No. Every mental illness patient have some basic rights. Mental capacity means taking one's own decisions. People with mental illness have the right to make decisions of their own. According to the Mental Health Act, Mental illness people should have the right to make decisions on medical treatments, finance, social care, daily care. In case, the person is not in the state to make health decision, legal safeguards have to be followed to fulfill the gap of mental capacity. Limiting the capacity of the patient with mental illness increases discrimination, lack of access to care, and social inequality. It is against ethical practice. So people with mental illness should be informed with full information for better understand and better decision-making processes.
