Ans :-

Use the formula to calculate the mass percentage of each element in formula :

Percentage by mass of the element in the formula = Mass of the element in that compound x 100 % / Total mass of the formula

For example :-

In H2O :

Percentage by mass of Hydrogen in H2O = Mass of H in H2O x 100 % / Total mass of H2O

= 2 g x 100 % / 18 g

= 11.1 %

Similarly,

Percentage by mass of Oxygen in H2O = Mass of O in H2O x 100 % / Total mass of H2O

= 16 g x 100 % / 18 g

= 88.9 %
