Answer - If the IPO was undertaken in New York , it does not mean that the Alibaba has become an American enterprise.

The IPO was taken in the US market to raise the money from the US investors . It was in result of the competition against the Amazon. The IPO does not shift the control of the company from China to US. Alibaba is registered as a chinese company. IPO was undertaken to finance the capital from the US market.
