Abstract

This research is based solely on Alzheimer's among the elderly in the Latino community. While research is only beginning to uncover the impact of Alzheimer’s disease among Hispanics, this research has recorded to date that Hispanics are at a much higher risk to develop dementia than any other ethnicity or racial group among minorities in America. Furthermore, the burden of disease is falling heavily on Hispanic families, particularly the women who are mothers and daughters, in part because of the strong sense of maternal responsibility and the role of women in these communities, but also because of the lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate and responsive health and community services. Alzheimer's is an emerging but unrecognized public health crisis in the Latino communities in the United States.

Purpose Statement:

The purpose of this study was to examine the therapeutic treatments such as music therapy, exercise, and art therapy that are beneficial for individuals who have acquired Alzheimer’s Disease.

Thesis Statement:

The digital age we live in right now is booming with rapidly advancing technology and research, yet Alzheimer’s is still the most rampant and unresolved neurodegenerative disease in the world. Understanding the treatment methods that have and have not worked is crucial in discovering the ultimate cure.

Conclusion of the research is that Alzheimer's disease is more seen in the females of Hispanic community due to lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate and responsive health and community services and in Latino community , Alzheimer's disease is an unrecognized and emerging health crisis . In this study Alzheimer's positive patients were treated with music ,art and exercise therapy to see the effectiveness and benefits of these therapeutic therapies on Alzheimer's patients.
