The relationship of culture to the experience of death and dying for older persons is very important as different cultures are based on different the religious belief of the people. For death is the separation of the soul from the body. For most Christians, physical death is the beginning of life that is going to be eternal in the presence of God. In Islam also the faith is the same i.e. death is considered the end of the physical life and the beginning of the eternal life. People all over the world who believe in these two religions believe in this concept of death no matter what culture they are. However, most Hindus believe that humans pass through a cycle of death and rebirth which is called samsara. When a person dies, the soul of that person i.e. the atman is reborn in a different body. According to some rebirth happens directly at death, while others believe that an atman may exist in other realms.
