1. It is the oxidation of primary alcohol-ethanol using potassium dichromate give the acetic acid as the major product, the   potassium dichromate undergo the reduction and colour change of the reaction from yellow to blue due to Cr ^VI+ convert into to Cr ^{III +} along with the H₂O.
