At-risk newborns are susceptible to morbidity and/or mortality because of issues with maturity, physical disorders, and/or complications related to or following birth. The newborn may also be at-risk because of the pregnancy. Some of these factors can be predicted and should be identified early to provide the best newborn outcomes.
