Answer #1

Orders 1.5 liters of Lactated Ringer's solution to be administered intravenously to your patient over the next 12 hours.

The IV tubing on your unit delivers 20 gtts per milliliter

1.5 x 1000ml/12 x 60 minutes x 20 gtts per milliliter

= 1500ml/720 min x 20 gtts/ml

1500 x 20/720

= 30000/720

= 41.666gtts/min
