Is there anything wrong if a supervisor introduces a mandated change with “I don’t agree with this, but orders are orders?” If so, what is wrong and why is it wrong?

Ans) If supervisor introduces a mandated change is right but at times when the change thought is to be looked whether will things for change will work or not.

- Before making it mandated just the supervisor must see to it if it is practically makes sense.

- Three ways to get employees to adopt change:

  • What to do
  • What must be done
  • Address the need for change

- The best way is Involvement which is the first one to be considered.

- Secondly, convince them to make them cooperate for the change needed.

- The first way, tell them, is to be avoided, simply ordering compliance might get some grudging cooperation, but usually creates resentment and fosters resistance.
