1. It a trade barrier restricting the quantity and monetary value
of imports and exports to and from foreign countries.
2. After meeting the quota further goods are charged with a higher
tariff or duty.
3. This is done to favor domestic suppliers and reduce foreign
dependency.
4.However, it might lead to disputes with other countries who might
respond with their own sets of trade quotas.
