Glass ionomer cement is a tooth-colored material and one fo the most common self cure restorative dental material. It has high strength bases used primarily for permanent cement. GIC bond chemically to the tooth structure and its bonding with enamel is higher than that of dentin. I had class 2 composite restoration.

Class 1 -involves occlusal surface

Class 2 involves Occlusal surface and the proximal surface

Class3- involves the proximal surface of anterior teeth

Class 4 involves incisal angles of anterior teeth

Class 5 involves a cervical third of anterior and posteriors

And, resin-based composite is highly aesthetic restorative material that is used in anterior as well as posteriors.
