According to IMA's statement of Ethical Professional Practice IMA members have a responsibility to comply with and uphold the standards of Competence, Confidentiality, Integrity, and Credibility. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, and so Perlman is duty bound to report the inventory.
Yes it should be pretty easy as per ethics too for Perlman to report this inventory as obsolete.
