Screening
Assessment and collection of evidence
Documentation and expert testimony from victims and perpetrators in hospitals, community clinics, or death scenes
Involvement in paternity disputes
Cases involving workplace injuries, malpractice, vehicle accidents, food or drug tampering, and medical equipment defects
# The causes for increased forensic nurses in US are :-
- increased crime
- antisocial behaviours and activities
- increased numbers of psychiatric patients

There were an estimated 1,197,704 violent crimes committed nationwide. This is 372.6 violent crimes per 100,000 inhabitants
The estimated number of murders in 2015 was 15,696.
An estimated 90,185 rapes.
FBI UCR data also show that violent crime rates are higher in metropolitan areas and cities in nonmetropolitan areas than in nonmetropolitan counties
