Definition It refers to a viral infection affecting the respiratory system causing fever and cold related symptoms.
Etiology virus,low immunity, lack of hand hygiene in hospital and when handling unfected people
Pathogenesis

the virus enters the host by droplet or airway on inhalation, invades the respiratory epithelial ,virus multiplies in the upper and lower respiratory tract>>destructing the cells >> leafing to dyspnea,fever ,runny nose etc.,

Clinical manifestation fever,cold,headache, muscle pain, fatigue ,sore throat, dry cough,pneumonia,larynhotracheobronchitis,vomiting, running nose, vomiting, shortness of bresth
  • HIV/AIDS
Definition The immune disease which leads to decrease in CD4 count making an individual prone to multiple infections due to the human immuno virus and leafing to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome
Etiology bloodtransfusion, needle stick injury,mother to foetus,multiple relationships, unknown relationship with sex workers  
Pathogenesis The lentivirus or HIV enters the blood stream of the victim,stays in a window period for six months,the virus enters the cells, binds to the CD4 on the cell membranes, >> interact with chemokinine co receptor and cause irreversible changes on the cell by altering the DNA structures permanently and the changes of RNA can occur due to the replication making identification difficult and a complete cure for the disease
Clinical manifestation continious fever,weight loss,oral thrush, diarrhoea, lymphadenopathy, rash, fatigue,sores on mouth and genitals,kaposi sarcoma,TB, cancer of major organs, tumours,pneumonitis,meningitis.
  • Lupus
Definition It is an autoimmune disease affecting the body's own cells and tissues
Etiology extreme exposure to Sun,medication, previous infection, women are at high risk, Asian Americans,Hispanics
Pathogenesis auto reaction of T cells and B cells happens>>production of autoantibody>> travels via blood>>attacks the joint,muscle ,most body parts >>injury >>symptoms exposed
Clinical manifestation fatigue,joint pain,butterfly rash ,photosensitive, lesions,dry eyes,dyspnea, chest pain, Reynaud's syndrome, headache, loss of memory
  • Hemorrhagic stroke
Definition It refers to cessation or decreased blood supply to the brain cells causing aneurysm finally leading to bleeding in the area around brain making inflammation ,pressure damaging the brain cells
Etiology severe hypertension, arteriovenous malformation ,head injury, blood thinners, cerebral aneurysms
Pathogenesis when there is a decreased blood supply or increased blood pressure it may lead to rupture of blood vessels or aneurysms causing leakage of blood to the surrounding area of the brain and causing swelling,increased CUP and symptoms
Clinical manifestation sudden headache, loss of consciousness, vomiting, numbness in arm or leg,blurry vision,altered sensorium, instability to walk,gait problems,seixuresl
