Adam is mistaken because he is only considering his judgement of selecting the best people basing on his opinion. Where as he should also consider that in a competition there may be number of singers who are recruited by their owners and these owners got the same but feeling these people are best.
In any competition judges will select the winner by grading and also with audience support. If any judge feels that Adam team is not the best in all the competitors they may loose the competition which makes us understand it is nothing in hands of Adam or his singers as some other person will judge them and the only thing they can do is give their best.
Adam feeling having the best singers will win the competition is also wrong as even an average with a good coordination will chorus can also make them win.
In singing competition winning depends on song selection, chorus , singer and the group coordination. Not every time best person win but also good team work wins.
