a).
As we know that there is a negative relationship between “hour spent per week in varsity sports at PSU” and “student’s grade point average”. Since as a student will spend more and more time in sport will have less time to devote to study, => the grade point will be negatively affected. Consider the following fig.

So, here we have measured “grade point” on the “Y-axis” and “Hours spend per week in varsity sports” on the “X-axis”. So, the fig shows the negatively relationship between them.
b).
Now, “temperature at beach” and “number of people at beach” is positively related initially but after a point of temperature the relationship become negative. Since when the “temperature” is relatively low there is a positive relationship as temperature increases people enjoy the beach but after a certain point of temperature when its relatively high it’s become difficult for people to stray there. Consider the following fig.

So, here we have measured “Numbers of people” on the “Y-axis” and “Temperature at beach” on the “X-axis”. So, the fig shows the positive relationship 1st and then negatively relationship between them.
c).
Similarly, “application of water” and “growth of corn plants” are positively related. As the level water is low the growth of plants are also low. As the application of water increases the growth of plant also increases, => there is a positive relationship between them. Consider the following fig.

Now, here we have measured “Growth of crop” on the “Y-axis” and “Application of water” on the “X-axis”. So, the fig shows the positive relationship between them.
