1. The patient should educate about the nutrition label that presents on the backside of the box and to identify the carbohydrate content before the intake of the food. I will include the contents of total calories of the container and calories for per serving, serving size, important nutrients present in the container, beneficial of nutrients, and percentage of daily value. Demonstration method is the most effective method of teaching by using visual aid so that the patient ability and skill can be analyzed.
2. Health professionals should play a significant role in providing a good learning environment for the patient. Health professional should consider the patient's learning style, patient health condition, and time of learning for effective teaching. The health professional should analyze well of what is best for the patient's condition and free from judgment. Improving self-awareness and continuing education will help to maintain a professional atmosphere.
3. I will use the patient's language and simple terms for a better understanding of the patient. I will consider the patient's cultural values and beliefs so the necessary changes can make according to the patient's wishes.
4. Each participant should share a sample food label and read about the carbohydrate and the sugar content. Each one has to demonstrate a meal per servings and carbohydrate level and Percentage of sugar value. They also show the overall carbohydrate level for each day.
