m* g = total force

m * 9.8 = 290 + 140

m = 43.9 kg

the mass of the student is 43.9 Kg

let the distance of center of mass is x

mg * x - 140 * L = 0

43.9 * 9.8 * x - 140 * 2.32 = 0

L = 0.75 m

the distance from the student's head is 0.75 m
