If you are holding a neutral conductor and need to physically add electrons to it one at a time, the first electron would be placed on easily, but the second electron would be tougher. The first electron goes in easily, but the second electron is harder. In your initial discussion post, Address the following questions:

• Why would this be the case in this scenario?
• What happens to the work needed to add the third, fourth, fifth, and so on, electrons?
• Suppose you were putting marbles in a box one at a time. How is the amount of work required to add marbles to a box similar to and different from the amount of work required to add electrons to a conductor?

1- this happens because initially no charge on wire so first can be added easy but when second electron is to be added, the first one will repel it so one need to work to add it.

2- as number of electrons added increases, charge will increase and hence repulsive force will increase hence workdone will also increase so on adding 4rth 5th and so on work will increase.

3- in marble case work will be different as marbles are not charged they are neutral so their presence will not effect on workdone in adding an extra marble
