Answer #1

Answer:

Let ''X'' be the no. of small trucks, then vans shall be ''2X'' and let ''Y'' be the large trucks.

From the information given total no. of vehicles can be purchased = 260

i.e., X+2X+Y=260

3X+Y=260----------(1)

and the total amount of investment = $10,000,000

i.e., 25,000(2X)+50,000(X)+50,000(Y)=10,000,000

50,000X+50,000X+50,000Y=10,000,000

2X+Y=200----------(2)

on solving the above equations we get,

X= 60 and Y=80

Therefore,

no. of small trucks = X = 60

No. of vans = 2X = 2(60) = 120

No. of large trucks = Y = 80.

Thank you.
