1.Use of NSAID drug in a patient who had history ulcer may trigger erosion of gastrointestinal tract and bleeding ,in addition to this use of Coumadin (anticoagulan) has contributed to increase in bleeding

2.The most serious complication being

  • Dehydration due to diarrhoea and bleeding has lead the patient to severe hypotension
  • High risk of getting cardiac arrest due to hypotension, dehydration, CHF

3.Mr.West 70yr/M admitted with complaints of diarrhoea is a known case of hypertension, arthritis,CHF on treatment.His past history of gastrointestinal ulcer and its treatment. He is dizzy but arousable pedal edema +,Patient is tachycardic, hypotensive ,tender abdomen. A 16G venous catheter Swanz Ganz catheter and arterial line , inserted aseptically and RL at 125ml/hours started via peripheral line.

4.The signs and symptoms of in this patient are

  • Severe decrease in blood pressure
  • There will be increased heart rate
  • Weak ,thready pulse
  • Pale skin due to bleeding ,diarrhoea

5.The complications of extreme fluid loss is sever hypovolemia shock which need whole blood transfusion to save life.
