EBP is a problem-solving approach to clinical decision-making within a health care organization. It integrates the best available scientific evidence with the best available experiential (patient and practitioner) evidence.

Two models of Evidence Based Practice are :-

# John Hopkins Nursing Model -it has three major components and internal and external factors :-

- practice

- research has parts :-

-1. Research in which quasi experimental, experimental ,non -environmental and qualitative are used .

-2. Non -Research includes clinical practice guidelines ,expert opinion , organization experience ,clinical expertise .

- education

Internal factors are :-

Culture

Environment

Staffing

Standards

Equipment

External factors are:-

Accreditation

Standards

Regulations

Legislation

# The Model for Evidence Based Practice Change components :-

- Assess need for change

- link problems , intervention and outcome

- synthesize best evidence

- design practice change

- implement and evaluate change in practice

- integrate and maintain change in practice
