The type of DRI that is established for iron; the recommended daily intake for children of age 2-11 years from foods and supplements is 13.7–15.1 mg/day for teens aged 12–19 years it is 16.3 mg/day, for men it is 19.3–20.5 mg/day and in women older than 19 17.0–18.9 mg/day(NIH, 2018)
