Nursing care strategies that can be implemented for a formula feeding parent is

  • Explain about the benefits of breast feeding
  • Also explain about the disadvantages of bottle feeding over the health of the baby such as Napkin rash , skin rash, diarrhoea , oral candidiasis due to improper cleaning of bottles etc.
  • Encourage breast feeding my explaining about the effects of avoiding feeding over the mother
  • Explain the reason how mother are at risk for developing breast cancer if breast feeding is avoided.
  • Also explain that breast feeding acts as a barrier contraceptive method.
