An airline is given permission to fly 4 new routes of its choice. The airline is considering 14 new routes: 5 routes in Florida, 5 routes in California, and 4 routes in Texas. If the airline selects the 4 new routes at random from the 14 possibilities, determine the probability that 2 are in Florida and 2 are in Texas. 


What is the probability that 2 routes are in Florida and 2 routes are in Texas?

Tehre are total 14 new routes, 4 can be selected in 14C4 ways

2 from Florida can be selected in 5C2 and 2 from Texas can be selected in 4C2 ways

Required probability = (5C2 * 4C2)/14C4
= 60/1001
