Post antibiotic era refers to bacteria developing resistance to antibiotic over a period of time. The resistance developed in 4 years to less than 1 year after the invention of the medicine. Health care without antibiotic is unimaginable because of high chance of infection.Hospital is a place where all the sick patients visits for treatment purpose and the microorganisms from them are definitely left or found around the environment (e.g., an infected TB patient sneezing or coughing,a surgeon using an instrument, devices etc., in operation theatre ).Though disinfection practices are carried ,still it continuously recovers to fulminant effect. This exposes even a healthy individuals to the microorganisms. In case if antibiotic resistance develop this simultaneously increases the length of the disease process to recover, increased mortality, high infection rate ,sky rocketing expenses to meet the medical needs.
