Following are the strategies to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease in population:
1. One should maintain weight in normal BMI(18-25)
2. Reduce stress by adopting techniques such as yoga,breathing exercise etc.
3. Take 7 hours of continuous sound sleep.
4. Eat DASH diet-Dietary approach to stop hypertension i.e. eat whole grains, fruit and vegeteble rich diet including low fat dairy products . Avoid the use of tobacco,alcohol,smoke. This diet is low in saturated fat and total fat.
5. Get regular health check up and do some kind of physical exercise daily for minimum of 20 minutes to 40 minutes.
