Answer #1

Desired dose of Claforan= 750 mg IM every eight hours

The directions on the package insert state for IM or IV and ministration reconstitution of the 1 g made with 3 mL yields 300 mg/ML

Means available strength is 300 mg/ml

How many milliliters will you administer?

Means 300 mg is in 1ml

1 mg in = 1/300 ml

Hence required 750 mg will be supplied from= (1/300) X 750 ml

= 2.5 ml should be administered.
