Phytochemicals are compounds that are produced by plants .They are found in fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, and other plants. Phytochemicals can be added to proceedsed food as it has several uses.

Phytochemicals can help stop the formation of potential cancer-causing substances .Phytochemicals act as antioxidants against many diseases or antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, cholesterol‐lowering, antithrombotic, or anti‐inflammatory effects.Phytochemicals are natural preservatives to reduce and inhibit pathogenic microorganism growth and preserve the overall quality of food product.
