Answer: Technology is mainly such tool which is two sided sword as be use to benefits as well as harm anyone.It usually reduces lot of human efforts while doing certain things.So in the sam sense, Use of technology for surveillance and control of prisoners have its pros as well as some cone.Lets first talk about

ADVANTAGES:

1 Various trchnologies like RFID i.e. radio frequency identification devices are used for tracking the movements with the help of sensors etc so such technolgy can be used to monitor the movement of prisoners and will helpfull to altert prison authorities if there is certain unusual concentration of prisoners is noticed.

2.Prison and realted surrounding areas composed of large area so use of CCTV and security camera's will to a large extent reduce burden over prison gaurds to monitor situation manually.

3.Technology also can be used to monitor the situation of prison along with prisoners.Its social environment, sanitation.Overcrowding etc.

4. presence of cameras reduces the incidences of assaults, monitor inmates activity and maintain order in common areas.

5. Provides a valid visual proof if something unfortunate happened in side.

DISADVANTAGES

1.It affects the very basic human right , prisoner do have human rights and such 24×7 monitoring is violates their RIGHT TO PRIVACY.

2.Tampering can be done in such devices by the prisoners at some occasions then it will be difficult to monitor situation.

So over reliance over technology should not be their instead it should be used in limited but effective manner
