Answer #1

Ans) the correct option is b) the first unit of one good is not worth its cost

When there is a corner solution, the total income is spent on one good. In case of perfect substitutes, there is a corner solution because both goods give same level of satisfaction so good which has a lower price is consumed.

-shaped preferences. Person A has an income of $M and spends all of her income on the only two goods in her world - good X with price px and good Y with pY which we will set equal to 1 (i.e. good y is the numeraire).   Draw a well-labelled diagram showing an individual’s budget constraint. This includes intercepts and slope. Assume that Person A has Leontief preferences – that is, L-shaped indifference curves (such preferences are described by the...

Consider a consumer with a utility function u(x1, x2) = min{21, 222}. Suppose the prices of good 1 and good 2 are p1 = P2 = 4. The consumer's income is m = 120. (a) Find the consumer's preferred bundle. (b) Draw the consumer's budget line. (c) On the same graph, indicate the consumer's preferred bundle and draw the indifference curve through it. Question 9 1 pts Logan Roy is spending all his money income by buying mineral water and popcorn. At his current consumption level, the marginal utility of mineral water is 70 and the marginal utility of popcorn is 60. The price of a bottle of mineral water is $2.00 and the price of a box of popcorn is $1.50. The utility-maximizing rule suggests that Logan should: O Increase consumption of popcorn and increase consumption of mineral water Decrease consumption of...
