suggest several functions performed by water in the body and the significance of each
Water is the basic component like oxygen without which the body would be completely dehydrated. The water in the body has many functions which helps the body to maintain the haemostasis. The functions are as follows:
* provides shape and structure to the cells
Approximately 2/3 of water is constituted in the cells within the body. Muscle cell has the higher concentration of the water content.
* regulated the body temperature
Water absorbs the heat slowly and the regulation of the body temperature is been maintained.
* aids in digestion and absorption of the food
Approximately 8 to 9 liters of water secreted in the GI tract which helps in absorption and digestion of the food.
* transports nutrients and oxygen to the cell
By mistening the air sacs of the lungs the water allows oxygen to dissolve and move to the blood stream for distribution to the body
* serves as a solvent for vitamins, minerals and glucose
The solvating property of water is vital for health and survival.
* participates in metabolic reactions
Helps in synthesis of hormones and enzymes
* eliminates waste products
Water helps in excretion of waste through urine, feces and expiration.
* helps in mucus and lubricating fluids
Reduces friction in the ligaments joints and acts as a cushion.

4. a. Table 2.1 contains values of several functions that often arise in the analvsis of algorithms. These values certainly suggest that the functions 3 log n, n, n log2n, n', n', 2", n! are listed in increasing order of their order of growth. Do these values prove this fact with mathematical certainty? b. Prove that the functions are indeed listed in increasing order of their order of growth
