Answer #1

Answer)

N = 905

P = 3/4

First we need to check the conditions of normality that is if n*p and n*(1-p) both are greater than 5 or not

N*p = 679

N*(1-p) = 226

Both the conditions are met so we can use standard normal z table to estimate the probability

Z = (x - mean)/s.d

Mean = n*p = 678.75

S.d = √{n*p*(1-p)} = 13.0264154701

We need to find

P(x>=683)

By continuity correction

P(x>682.5)

Z = (682.5 - 678.75)/13.0264154701

Z = 0.29.

From z table, P(z>0.29) = 0.3859

B)

Yes as the probability is greater than 0.05
