Answer :

Family can be defined as a group of persons who either related by consanguinity,affinity or co residence,

Economic co_operration and reproduction .it includes adult of both sexes ,at least two of whom maintain a socially approved sexual relationship and one or more children ,own or adopted of sexually co habiting adults.

A healthy family is one that provides for basic neefs such as food ,shelter and economic support.

Beyond the basics, family provides love ,affection ,a sense of identity ,and sence of belonging.

Family structures :

Nuclear family

Extended family

Single parent family

Reconstituted family

Symmetrical family

Empty nest family

Cereal packet family

Non traditional family :

Two or more people in a relationship that is not recognized either by the federal or staff government as a marital relationship.

Ex : single parenting ,same sex parenting ,sisters living with mom,blended family

Importance of non traditional family structure :

  • Non traditional family has flexibility ,adaptabilityand choice .
  • Single parents are more honest and open communication
  • A strong ,guiding to the children .
  • More patient , supportive and fostered independence.
  • Non traditional family had less respect in society
  • Some are violent
  • challenges are more to non traditional family compared to traditional family .

Family system theory suggest that individual cannot be understood in isolation from one another ,but rather as a part their family.

  • In morden family has lot of tensions with work , insecurity and difficulty coping and distance may increased due to conflicts .
