Diabetes Mellitus

• Increase level of excecise because physical activity reduces the risk of diabetes.
• Maintain a healthy weight because obesity increases the risk of developing type2 diabetes.
• If overweight, it is very important to lose weight and get on a regular excecise program to reduce the risk of diabetes.
• Use a diet that is low in fat content, total calories and processed foods and high in fruits and vegetables.
• If overweight and over afe 45,get a glucose screening test done.

Incontinence of Urine

• Adoption of lifestyle interventions such as teaching the patient about consumption of an adequate volume of fluids and reduction or elimination of bladder irritants.
• Patients are strongly advised to quit smoking because this habit increase the risk of stress UI.
• Behavioural treatment include scheduled voiding regimens, bladder training and pelvic floor muscle training is recommended.

Chronic pain

• Maintain healthy weight.
• Do not sleep in position.
• Avoid cigarette smoking and tobacco products.
• Obtain regular physical activity, including strength and endurance training.
• Use proper body mechanics to avoid low back strain.
• Sleep on side with knees flexedand a pillow between the knees.
