The people who are in depression needs a continuous care until they recover completely. A nursing student should have the following attitudes and practices when dealing with these types so patient

• Showing a professional therapeutic relationship by good communication, so that the patient feels free to approach for help.
• Do not argue with the patient because this can lead to emotional outbursts that no one is listening
• Showing active listening enhances care
• Provide guidance in making decision
• Provide a positive and safe environment because of the risk for self injury
• Ensure the patient undergoes group therapy, psychotherapy therapy to come out of depression
• Do not criticize the patient because this can make them feel so low and unfit
• Educate that it is just an imbalance and often can be overcome easily with adequate support .
