Should a person lose citizenship while in prison? A corollary question is, should they continue to be deprived of the right to vote after release from prison?

No, a person should not lose citizenship while in prison. Prisoners can be threat to the other parts of the society. Thus, although they should continue to be the citizens and enjoy privileges which are lesser than a normal citizen, they should not be given the rights to vote during the prison term. However, once they are released from the prison, they should be given as much freedom and rights (right to vote, First amendment rights etc.) just like any other individual.
