6500 units - 10,000units/ml = 0.65ml

Answer - For 6500 units nurse have to take 0.65ml.

2. HCP Order Solu-medrol 175mg IV daily

Available Solu-medrol labeled 500mg/8ml

1 ml of the solution contains

500mg + 8ml = 62.5mg/ml

The patient will take 175 mg

175mg + 62.5mg/ml = 2.8ml

Answer - So, the patient needs 2.8ml daily.

3. Order dose - Trental(ER) 0.4g

Available drug 400mg tablets

1 gram equals to 1000mg, so 0.4 gram equals tp 400 mg.

Answer - The patient will take 1 tablet.

4. The patients state "I take 1 tsp of gluconate 3 times a day"

Drug labeled is 30mg/ml

1 tsp is 4.929 ml (approx 5 ml)

Patient taking 1 tsp of gluconate 3 times a day, means 3 tsp in a day.

if 1 tsp is 5 ml

then the patient takin 15ml in a day.

1 ml contains 30mg

15 ml contains 450mg.

15ml x 30mg/ml = 450mg/day

Patient taking 450mg of the drug in a day.

450mg + 3times = 150mg/dose

Answer - 150mg each time.
