Answer #1

An infusion of octreotide is infusing at 12ml/hr.

The bag contains 2mg octreotide in 250ml of 0.9% NS.

2 mg = 2000mcg

So, 250 ml contains 2000mcg of octreotide.

1 ml of NS contains 8 mcg of octreotide. 2000mcg + 250ml = 8mcg/ml

Octreotide is infusing at 12ml/hr.

So, 12 ml of Ns contains 96mcg of octreotide. 12ml x 8mcg/ml = 96mcg

96mcg of octreotide is going on in one hour.

60min - 96mcg/hr = 0.625mcg/min

Answer - 0.625mcg/min
