Abdellah was one of the powerful nursing theorists. She is remembered for changing the vision of the nursing profession from disease-centred to patient-centred. She wrote more than 147 articles and books in her career and spent 40 years in public health service.
In her practice model of nursing, she focussed more on prevention and rehabilitation. A nurse must identify the lacks and problems that the patient's health demands and provide continuous care to alleviate the pain and discomfort. She always took care of instructing nursing personnel and family to help the client.
