2. Medical Assistant #1 enters the room and notices that her neighbors have their baby in for a visit. She is very guarded about other medical assistants entering the room.
2. Medical Assistant #1 removes infants clothing to get a weight and notices that the infant has burns on his legs, buttocks, and chest.
3. Medical Assistant #1 inquires from the parents how he received the burns and they state they are not sure.
4. The Medical Assistant #1 notices that the burns are fresh and seem to be from a cigarette.
5. Medical Assistant #1 because they are her friends and neighbors decides not to say anything to protect them.
6. While putting the clothes back on the infant another Medical Assistant #2 enters the room to get a Growth Chart and notices the burns.
7. Medical Assistant #2 asks the Medical Assistant #1 if she can speak with her outside of the room.
8. Medical Assistant #2 states she is going to report this to the physician. Medical Assistant #1 begs her not, as they are her friends and the neighbors.
9. Medical Assistant #2 reports to the physician.
10. Physician reports to the police.
11. Medical Assistant #2 fills out an Incident Report and Statement of Facts per protocol regarding Medical Assistant #1 error in patient care.

- Medical Assistant 1 took infant ,measured the weight by undressing.When the procedure was done I am as a Medical Assistant Number 2 , entered the room found the infant and started to redress. Mean while I found burns on infants legs and buttocks which are very fresh and are found to be cigarette burns.
- Medical Assistant 1 on finding me observing this requested to have a personal talk , where I was reluctant and stated that I am going to inform physician.
- Medical Assistant 1 begged me not to inform in concern with our friend ship.
- Regardless every thing keeping aside I informed about the incident to the Physician and later this was brought to the Police.
