• Increasing population as number of older citizens will increase. So much of the expenditure is from inpatient hospital care.
• chronic illnesses like diabetes, low backache, high blood pressure and cholestrol etc are on rise and prove to be burdensome.
• Rising ambulatory cost, emergency department cost increases healthcare cost
• Government programs like medicare and medicaid have increased overall demand of medical services

ways to decrease cost

• Seeking preventive measure like vaccination, intake of healthy foods and adopting good lifestyle.
• Have knowledge of insurance policies and their benefits
• Reviewing of medication time to time as there may be change in the dose or change to other less cost medicines.
• reducing the risk of falling as fall lead to huge expenditure so adopting safety measures ahead will cut healthcare cost
