Anxiety related to dyspnea can worsen the condition. The PSW can support the person with anxiety in many ways.

Interventions

1. Allow the patient to verbalize their concerns and feelings and accept the patients feelings about his condition and do not argue or debate with them.

2. Demonstrate and encourage the use of relaxation technique such as deep breathing exercise and assist and teach comfortable positions which can reduce dyspnea.

3. Arrange calm and quite environment and discuss with the patient and family regarding the condition and how to manage it.

4. Provide reassurance and clear the doubts of the patient regarding their condition.
