The Race and health Initiative
The race and health initiative was launched by the us president Clinton in the in February in the year of 1988.
This was initiated to prevent disease ,promote health ,and to deliver quality care to the people from the racial and ethnic minorities and to eliminate the health disparities among minority group.
The race and health initiative focused on 6 prioritized area;
1-infant mortality
2-cancer screening and management
3-cardiovascular disease
4-Diabetes
5_HIV/AIDS
6-Adult and child immunization.
Ethnic minority group have a higher prevalence of getting disease and their related risk factors by comparing with the general population .they also have a only the lower prevalence of positive health behaviour related to diet and physical activity which is the most risk factor for getting disease.inspite of significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases there is a evidence that racial and ethnic minority people are receiving the lower quality of care than the non minorities and the people from racial and ethnic minority experience higher mortality and morbidity from various chronic diseases .so the race and health initiative launched.
Primary aim of race and health initiative.
The main aim of this initiative include the consultation and collaboration between the federal agencies,state level,tribal government,and community professional for research and to find the issues of education ,income ,environment ,and other socioeconomic factors that affects the health outcomes.
They set it as the primary aim because in most of the area poor socio economic life and poor environment act the main role in leading to poor health .
To overcome this the government funds of $ 10 million to support targets peoples with HIV/AIDS.$ 5 million for community based education .$ 5 million for cardiovascular disease prevention.$ 500 million for health survey ,conducting health csmpaign and to develop control model for prostate cancer.
Other goals include;

Strengthening the infrastructure and workforce of nations health and human service
Advancing American health and wellbeing
