There are several ways to lower hyperlipidemia

1) Exersice on most days of the week and increasing physical activity can lower hyperlipidemia

  • Exercise can burn cholesterol and increase LDL levels
  • Exercise at least 30 minutes five times a week or vigorous aerobic activity for 20 minutes three times a week.

Adding physical activity, even in short intervals several times a day, can help lower hyperlipidemia which includes

  • Walking quickly during lunch hour
  • Instead of riding bike walk to work
  • Playing games

2) Quit smoking

Quitting smoking improves your HDL cholesterol level. The benefits occur quickly:

  • cigarette-induced spike in BP reduces in 20 minutes of quitting smoking
  • Within three months of quitting smoking significant lowering of hyperlipidemia can be seen

3) Lose weight

Carrying even few kg more than required is bad for health so by avoiding this and maintaining normal level BMI is best.

4)Drink alcohol only in moderation

Excess intake of alcohol leads to deposit of cholesterol over body tissue.so reducing alcohol intake helps
